Sanfranciská policie a hlídkové čluny pobřežní stráže krouží kolem ostrova Alcatraz v reakci na výzvu správce Jamese Johnstona, když v nedobytné „Skále“ vypukly nepokoje. Nad ostrovem krouží hlídkové letadlo pobřežní stráže, aby řídilo obléhací plavidla a sledovalo průběh bitvy. Odsouzení sice přestali střílet, ale ještě se nevzdali.
